Some cool stuff I’d recommend checkin out…
-Been drinking this smoothie several mornings a week, getting addicted. Sometimes I switch out zucchini for cauliflower. (Swear, you won’t taste them) (kudos to my sister for telling me about this girl)
-I’m enjoying this book. Very beach read-y, but the prose is smooth and the characters aren’t super nice. Good times! And lots of California references that I can’t believe I actually get.
-I made another silly video about specific movie moments. This time…Fatal Attraction. “Why?” you ask. Watch the video, I dunno. But I found some things that impressed me in the beginning of the movie. And it’s very low, low quality, I know, I did what I could today. Even my hair’s wet from the shower. What can ya do.
-Kumail Nanjiani tweeting about Four Weddings and a Funeral is pure delight. I can see myself getting this way about Dazed and Confused (or the Before Linklater movies) or Almost Famous.
–I found this helpful. But dang, it’s hard.
-INDIE MOVIE RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK: Band Aid.
We went to a screening of this in LA and it was a really fun time. Lots of great writing/improv, lots of awkwardness and genuine laughs. If you’re looking to blow off some steam and not take things too seriously (hand raise), it’s a fun little movie to go see in the theatre. And I’m always excited to see multi-hyphenates out getting the job done. So shoutout to Zoe Lister-Jones (ps – her movie Breaking Upwards and this NY Times article about it were important seeds in my mind in 2010 while I was dreaming of June).
Peace out. Happy weekend!
ps. I think I’m gonna move the blog over to a personal website soon and make this site more of a holding place for info on our films. I realize that for folks who are just stumbling upon this blog they have no idea who I am…so I’m gonna fix that! Hence part of the reason you’ll see more photos of me soon – so people can put a face to the person writing. Not because I love looking at myself… Blogging culture is weird, I don’t know. I’m working on it!
