Happy weekend and greetings from my bed where I am eating peanut butter toast with honey and looking forward to a busy day of taking headshots, looking at apartments, and going to a screening tonight. Stuff stuff stuff. I sound chipper and productive but I do not feel that way at all. I suspect that cleaning my apartment will change everything. Because it’s a mess. Here’s hoping! All I know is my own problems are microscopic compared to so much other suffering going on. I’m lucky. And I wish the same for you.
Here’s some interesting stuff I found this week:
-I really really really like The Deuce on HBO. Have you seen it? I like some low-key James Franco and wise, curious Maggie Gyllenhaal.
–This was very comforting to me.
–new fall books! I need more time!
–The Greatest Internet Recipe Comment of All Time
-A couple surprisingly pretty good non film snob-y movies: Kill Your Darlings. That lil Daniel Radcliffe does a nice job as young Ginsberg. I only wish there was more Ben Foster in it. And we needed something exciting last night and found on Netflix under Thriller: The Awakening with Rebecca Hall. Fun ghost story that made me jump. Honestly, sometimes that’s all you need.
-Oh yes, a new Noah Baumbach movie.
-Confession: I follow Margot Price on Instagram not only because she’s a great musician, but, um, rock and roll country princess fashion fantasies, herloo?
-Lolz. Forgot about this. (And if you ever hear Chris or I say in a low voice, “worse for wear and tear,” this is where it came from.)
-Honestly? I’m kind of burnt out. I’ve read a lot of negative stuff this week and I’m choosing not to share it. Not informative, helpful, critical stuff, just flat-out negative. And I’m kind of down and need some inspiration. So if you have any recommendations for me, I will take them gladly, dear friends.
-Finally, omg like super vulnerable: how you like my new headshots?
