Hi. (also why the f is this picture so big?) Oh MAN did I get hit with some mid-day slump today. It’s gone now, but I was dark for about two hours there. Hi. I’m back. And you know what did it? Some coffee and some Pinterest and a couple of funny Instagram posts.
Pretty basic, but that’s how it goes sometimes. And it’s a wonderful gift of social media that sometimes you really can use it for good.
I can pick out where sadness comes from sometimes. Lately it’s from being overwhelmed, looking at the phone and the computer too much (and sometimes social media can be a source for bad), scheming out my life too much, having a little too much whiskey in the evenings, and not being inspired when I wanted inspiration. It just got to be too much, too many post-it To Do lists, too many social media notifications, too much competitiveness (and I secretly can be very competitive), too much being my own boss and blaming myself for everything that isn’t happening fast enough or at all (and yes, it is my fault, all of it).
So, Rebecca, just stop, drop, have coffee, look at pretty pictures and find something to laugh at. You also can’t be ambitious every second of the day or it will kill you and you’ll decide you don’t want what you say you want. Even though you do want it.
That’s my pep talk. To myself. You’re welcome.
But anyway. Oh jeez I don’t have a topic other than we all need to hit refresh sometimes. We all need to take better care of our bodies and minds and hearts. We all need to fold our laundry and listen to a silly podcast and surround ourselves with positive people who like where they’re at (or at least like how they’re getting to where they want to go).
So, I pulled myself out and I feel better. It just got to be too much. Some of us need to work a little harder and some of us need to work a little less. And some of us need to stop obsessing over which one of those people we are (ahem, talking to m’self again here!). It’s cyclical. Do what you can. Do what you must. No day is wasted, ever. Though some days get kinda close.
Okay, that’s enough! It’s Tuesday! It’s October! Enjoy your coffee, get some fresh air, talk to someone nice and/or reach out to someone nice online! More good stuff, please, for all of us.
Also, this helped me feel better. I’m a pretty simple person. (from @beigecardigan) #Blessed
